Working in an outdoor environment poses its own problems. Understanding the wildlife you share those spaces with is an important part of managing your personal safety and being a responsible member of the outdoor community. 

Bear Basics Wildlife Education aims to be an accessible research-based platform that provides practical information on a few species of concern and how to manage your interactions with them in a number of situations. This website will provide you with quick information on two species of bears as well as cougars, follow up links on our "Interesting Links" page, a link to Bear Basics online videos and brief descriptions of in-person programs available.
